Leigh Rankings: Revival Series Episode Rankings 2005 to 2019 131st to 121st

Leigh’s Rankings is stepping up a notch and I have decide to rank all revival Doctor Who regular and special episodes for the next few weeks. The first edition is positions 131st to 121st! Let’s Get A Shift On and Allonsy!

131:  Tooth and Claw 4/10

I think it does it have likeable characters but the way 10 and Rose are treated and maybe they go to far too just ruins my enjoyment. It does begin a story arc about Torchwood which is revealed in Army of Ghosts as Torchwood One but s destroyed in Doomsday and later leads to Captain Jack’s Torchwood.

130: A Town Called Mercy 4/10

I am not a fan of western themed episodes and unfortunately I am disappointed as Amy and Rory have a minor role as they should have more stuff to do especially it’s their formal series and it just doesn’t work but Amy does have a minor role and don’t like it when she a damsel for just a minute. Matt Smith is definitely at his best but I do get what they doing but it’s just not my thing.

126: Love and Monsters 5/10

My least favourite Doctor and Companion life episode but I get what they try to do and it’s does have a interesting concept. Despite me not like the Abzorbaloff, I do respect that it  was a kid that designed it in a Blue Peter design a monster competition. Marc Warren plays Elton well and does well with what he is given.

129: Robots Of Sherwood 5/10

I absolutely have a huge problem with this episode as I don’t find it funny like others do and find guest characters very irrating and unfunny and it’s outshined by Jake Peralta in Brooklyn Nine Nine Who is also a silly character but find his stuff way better but I appreciate the effort. Peter and Jenna do well with what they have given but they deserved a much better story and this could cost Series 8 top spot to S11 or S12 or beyond as I love S8!

128: Night Terrors 5/10

Jamie Oram plays George very well and Mark Gatiss makes it extra scary bit it just doesn’t do much for me and I have seen better scarier stories from Gatiss but it’s a good try.

127: The Idiot’s Lantern 5/10

Another Gatiss story that doesn’t do it for me and begins this arc that makes the leads go a bit cocky which is a big issue as I want them to be nice and their behaviour in S2 is a big issue and is overshadowed when S8 has a few argument between Twelve and Clara but can make a great comeback but after it continues 4 episodes later, even after a good performance from Billie Piper, it’s just goes wrong for me. Rose is less involve didn’t the plot after losing her face to the wire when she goes on her own which was a bad move but something she says earlier stays in the Doctor’s head that leads to Magpies’. I do appreciate what Gatiss tries to do.

I do appreciate that is a story about being a fans

125: In The Forest In the Night 5/10

All the children expect Maebh are a big issue and Danny Pink can be a be too far protective but is actually much better than he is in the Caretaker so that is improvement and that makes me happy as I do struggle with the character. I love 12 nearly gives up but not sure if Clara did the right thing originally but does say a good line.

124: The End Of Time 5/10

A episode that I debate a lot as I am not sure 10 is great but I do get what they are trying to do. David Tennant chose his last line but then again, it does stand out but Peter Capaldi’s speech which overshadows David’s last scene for me and it feels a bit that 10 is only thinking about himself which I don’t think is selfish as he like his current body.He does changes straight after his line which is “I don’t want to go,” but fans who don’t like 10 might interpret that as in a negative way and that is a big issue but I do appreciate the effort. The farewell scenes is too long and there should have more action before 10 sacrificed himself for Wilf but that is like 5’s regeneration and I would have preferred a better deaths scene but fans are moves by it but it doesn’t move for me nowadays.

123: Father’s Day 5/10

Another episode people love but I don’t. I apprehended effort but these rule can also make expel think that the character thinking about themselves and this disappoints me as Rose is much better than this and I would have preferred if she told Pete than him work it out as it makes Rose look bad without doing anything than just doing the wrong thing and that is very big issue for me. LET ROSE REDEEM HERSELF THAN MAKING HER LOOK BAD!

122: The Women Who Lived

The story is ok, the way Doctor is treated on his own here is appalling and I feel sorry for him as he deserves much better. I don’t like Ashildir in this episode until near the end as she treats the Doctor bad but redeems herself. And continues to do so in her next two appearance The last scene saves the episode for me as Peter and Jenna make their bond stronger as the Doctor misses Clara.

121: The Shakespeare Code 5/10

It’s ok but I felt uncomfortable with the witches and the flirting but Martha is ok but not at her best. The end is funny as we don’t find out why Liz is angry until Day of the Doctor.
