Leigh Talks – Rosa Spoiler Free Preview

I haven’t seen the opener on any of the episodes as this is just a fan account so this is from official stuff and spoiler free reviews and TV Magazines

Rosa is the first Historical this series and has Vinette Robinson (Abi Lerner in 42 written by Chris Chibnall) as one of my Historical Heroes, Rosa Parks

This is the sypnosis:

“Montgomery, Alabama. 1955. The Doctor and her friends find themselves in the Deep South of America. As they encounter a seamstress by the name of Rosa Parks, they begin to wonder whether someone is attempting to change history.”

This is written by new writer Malorie Blackman who is also history maker. I do worry about her though as this a topic that god go right or wrong but she is experienced sos that might give a chance. As you know,  all 3 Historicals are written by new writers which is risky but it worked in Mark Gatiss’ and Steven Moffatt’s favour in 2005 so I wouldn’t rule it out being a success.

i think it’s nice to have a different era which all 3 Historicals have in common and of course, a Historical event with a history maker as people will know I do love History Makers including Jodie Whittaker, Matt Smith, Pearl Mackie, Peter Capaldi and a lot more.

It has racism which is one of  mypet hates and this episode will have it. I certainly didn’t like in Thin Ice which wasn’t much but still got a solid 8/10. The one thing I am hating is the Doctor Who TV Review has said Yaz and Ryan will face verbal and physical abuse which is too far but this a educational story so might be useful. My question is will children be terrified or be able to learn a lesson about this?

My other issue is Krasko who is the villain and I absolutely despise the character, once again racist issues. This doesn’t look to good here for me and I was not a fan in Sutcliffe in Thin Ice last year.

Doctor Who TV Review also has caught my attention saying “The Doctor and Graham’s hotel room charade leads to one great gag.” What does it mean though? We will see and I will hope to explain in the Review next week.

Time for some Episode 3 facts and some of my Episode 3 statistics that might interest you

– Episode 3 is often used as the first Historical of the Series except (S2 to 4 as they have already done a Historical in a previous episode and 9 which doesn’t have Historical until Episode 5.)

– Historicals in Episode 3 don’t tend to receive full marks by me but are highly praised which include The Unquiet Dead, Victory Of The Daleks and The Curse Of The Black Spot which received 9/10 and Thin Ice which scored 8/10. The other two episodes A Town Called Mercy and Robots Of Sherwood have received less than 6/10. The rest of the episodes are based in the future and present day gain between 9/10 to 10/10

Vinette Robinson and the TARDIS team could be the guys who  save the episode for me and this episode could probably score between 6 to 8 marks. It doesn’t look good in the long run but I will give the episode a try.
