Series 11 Trailer Review and More Expectations

I have to say I am excited for Chibnall’s era after a comeback fro. A BRILLIANT trailer released on the 19th July 2018. Starring Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, Bradley Walsh as Graham o’Brian, Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan and Tosin Cole as Ryan Sinclair.

I think there is lot of positives to take from this short trailer. I think Jodie had a speech where she explains to her companions about the adventures and if they want to be her friends. I would. There was two scenes of the Doctor in pain as we know she will have to face post regeneration trauma and after a fall! I think she will be not herself so it will take a while. The clip and the cinematography is better than the previous series and could rival Rachel Talalay in a way. She is GREAT!

My only critique is no monsters in as I rather we had hype but I do trust Chibnall in not letting the media spoil things.

Chibnall has confirmed that they will be a Christmas special this year and it rumoured that he will be directed by Wayne Yip who has directed Doctor Who and Class

Chibnall has also confirmed that all 10 episodes will be standalone that will alllow us to have the maximum amount of stories that would be commissioned by the BBC. Some fans have complained that the finale should be a two parter but I think they can do better than the one part finale we had in S7 as that just didn’t feel great.

Chibnall has said there will be new monsters in S11 but no Daleks also debunked the whole Sontaran rumour but is he going to surprise us? I am not sure but keep an eye out.

At the panel, Mandip Gill tabled about her character Yasmin and she said that Yasmin is 19 and idolises the Doctor so that is a brilliant thing and relates to real life. Bradley Walsh was absent at Comic Con but his character is going to be cautious about what they do which is like William Russell’s Ian Chesterton, once of the Doctor’s first human friends who was also part of a travelling Quartet and Jodie’s Doctor will be strict but will be fun as well.

Check out the BBC America twitter for more facts from the panel that I might have missed.

Don’t forget what they have said, “The Universe Is Calling”
